More Than Business Insurance: Why We’re Heading to the CT Conference
Next week you’ll see us at the CT Conference, and if you assume we’re only there to talk shop about business insurance, that’s a fair guess. It’s a big part of what we do. But there’s another side of what we help with that’s just as important, and it’s easy to overlook when you’re focused on running a business: your personal insurance.
Business Owners Are People Too
It’s easy to get laser focused on protecting the business, the building, the equipment, the liability exposure, the employees. All of that matters. But at the end of the day, business owners still go home to a house, drive a car, and have a family they want to protect. Personal insurance doesn’t stop mattering just because business insurance is on your mind.
We talk to a lot of business owners who have thought carefully about their commercial coverage but haven’t looked at their homeowners policy in years, or aren’t sure if their auto coverage is actually enough anymore. That gap is more common than people think.
Why This Matters at an Event Like CT
Conferences like this one are full of people wearing a lot of hats, business owner, parent, homeowner, investor, sometimes all in the same conversation. That’s exactly why we’re looking forward to being there in person. It gives us a chance to talk about the full picture, not just the business side, but what’s actually protecting your home, your vehicles, your family, and the assets you’ve worked hard to build outside of the business too.
A few things we’ll likely end up talking about with business owners at the event:
-
Personal liability coverage, especially if you host clients or employees at your home
-
Umbrella policies, which matter more the more successful your business becomes
-
Auto coverage, especially if personal vehicles are ever used for business purposes
-
Life insurance, which often gets pushed to “later” when business demands take over
The Bigger Picture
Running a business and protecting your personal life aren’t two separate conversations, they’re connected. The same way we’d walk a business owner through their commercial policy, we want to make sure the personal side is just as solid.
If you’ll be at CT next week, stop by and say hello. Know that we’re not just there to talk about your business. We’re there for the whole picture, because that’s what actually protects the life you’ve built, not just the business you’ve built.
