T.J. was a Boy Scout in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s where he learned to read a compass. Navigating the compass bearing was used time after time during many hikes and explorations and that helped him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, with Troop 636 in Middleburg Heights, OH. In 1998, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace University and was a four-year varsity letterman and team captain on the Swimming & Diving team and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity; Ohio Zeta Chapter. T.J. served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves from 1997-2009 and was deployed to many areas around the world, ending his career at USCG Station Marblehead, Ohio. T.J.’s experience in the U.S. Coast Guard also required navigation skills to help others in need. This is how the agency obtained the name; Navigate Risk Advisors; Insurance for all of life’s risk.
